Jewelry Making Class – Copper Etching and Hand stamping – Metalworking for Beginners

Etching metal is a technique that’s been used for hundreds of years, and now you can learn how etching can add dimension to your jewelry designs. Instructor Cindi Pope will teach the basics of etching copper, with ferric chloride. She will share her years of jewelry crafting with you! If you can draw the design, she will show you how to preserve it in metal forever! She’ll cover how to clean your metal, resists, etching safety and finishing your pieces. In addition, she’ll cover the basics of metal stamping.

In this jewelry class, you, as the artist can learn to achieve deeper levels of design and artistry with etching and stamping.

The 3 hour class will show you how to create your own beautiful and detailed designs in copper. You will be able to hand draw your own designs and etch your image deep into the surface of the metal. You’ll also practice the careful art of hand-stamping metal.

This is a fun and informative hands on jewelry class.

At the end of class, you’ll have two unique, one of a kind jewelry pieces that you designed and crafted, as well as the knowledge to add this technique to any of your future creations.

Tools will be provided for use in the classroom. All materials are included in the class fee. Please wear clothes you wouldn’t mind getting permanently stained. Aprons will be provided. Please wear closed toed shoes and long pants. Bring with you, a notepad and pencil for note taking and drafting your design. It’s very important to be on time, alert, excited, and full of creativity and energy for this class!

Single Clad blanks or sheet metal- 24 gauge or thicker works best for this technique.
Metal files (if not using pre-made blanks)

Rubbing alcohol
Duct Tape
Paper towels
Metal hole punch
Safety glasses
Dust mask
Various Metal stamps
Doming tools
Gilding paste

This class is scheduled for Saturday, April 6 from 10:00am until 1pm. Registration ends April 4th.

The tickets are $99 each. All sales are final. No refunds are given unless class is cancelled.

Maximum class size is 20, and minimum is 3.

Furniture Painting 101 Hosted by Ashley Goree

Come join us as we teach you how to paint and distress a piece! Bring your own (small piece) to class and we’ll showcase paint techniques, distressing, and how to seal your piece to protect your beautiful work! Bring your favorite (small) piece and give it a beautiful makeover! We suggest a side table, chair, nightstand, or other small piece. Light snacks will be provided. You’ll pick your paint from our color chart and take home a small goodie bag of products. This is a Step by Step guided class, so you’ll be sure to leave with a beautiful piece.

This class is scheduled for Saturday, April 6th from 1:00pm till 5:00pm. Registration ends April 4th.

Tickets are $75 per person. All sales are final. No refunds are given unless the class is canceled.
