Don’t Go Home Without
Gibson Beale Street showcases factory tours. Gibson Guitars date back to the early 1900s and while the factories in Bozeman, Montana and Nashville, Tennessee build all of the electric models, purists come to Memphis for the hollow body and semi-hollow body, semi-acoustic guitars. On your tour, you can watch skilled luthiers as they handcraft some of the finest guitars in the world.
Graceland – Elvis’ home takes you from Elvis’ humble beginnings through his rise to international superstardom. The Memphis Zoo – named one of the best Zoos in the country by tripadvisor. Points of Interest
The new Memphis Music Hall of Fame (MMHoF) celebrates visionaries who’ve made music in this city that resonates around the world. Some are household names, some aren’t. But spend an hour or so in their Hall of Fame, and you’ll see how they’re all connected to the soundtrack of your life. The MMHoF has been inducting members – 47 so far – since 2012, but the museum is new as of August 2015. Memphis is a pilgrimage for those wanting to visit the birthplace of the blues, of soul and of rock & roll. On Beale Street, W.C. Handy put down on paper the first written blues music. Elvis, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash all recorded at the historic Sun Records, which is now a museum. Graceland, the second most-visited home in America, welcomes visitors from around the world who yearn for a peek into the life of “the King” Beyond the music, Tennessee’s largest city also offers much more. It has more sunny days each year than Miami, and combines southern tradition and hospitality with modern amenities. You’ll enjoy great dining (be sure to sample the barbecued ribs), art galleries and exciting nightlife.
