 WHY YOU SHOULD SIGN UP

A Seasoned pro or just starting out, the industry is changing! The business is changing due to increased online and social media presence. Learn insider secrets and tips from those who are leaders in the industry. Learn what’s hot and what works and what doesn’t from those who are in it. Founders of BOOTH have run a successful store for over 8 years adding 2 more stores in the last 2 years. Their first store, University Pickers in Huntsville, AL, is 12,000 sqft and has over 115 vendors who have a combined social media reach of 200,000! They opened Redbird next door in 2019 and  just this fall opened a second University Pickers with 14,500 sqft outside of Birmingham AL. Sisters, Cindi Pope and Trish Gleason grew up in middle TN with a mom that has a flair for decorating and a dad that knows his business. Mom taught them early how to shop for a bargain and make simple things beautiful. Dad taught them hard work and how to laugh at themselves. Cindi and Trish work hard to help their vendors grow and be successful while providing customers a wonderful shopping experience. All while providing vendors the support and tools to help grow their business.

EXPERIENCE BOOTH

For creative small business owners who are selling antiques, vintage, repurposed, upcycled and handcrafted items in malls, markets or online. BOOTH is a time to come together and encourage, network and learn more from the leaders in our industry. When you attend BOOTH, you will have 2 full days of learning from successful booth owners and industry leaders, gaining encouragement from others and networking with other booth operators to help build a community of like-minded creative entrepreneurs. There will be work sessions to allow you time to implement and practice what you are learning. We will be brainstorming, planning and working together to grow our businesses. We are planning evening field trips to local shops to explore and do some extra shopping for ourselves too.

This  conference is for those in the retail booth biz. If you are a vendor, shop owner, run a seasonal market/shop or even if your booth space is online, there will be tons of great information to help you get more customers, grow your business and make more moolah! You know you want to make more of that!

Co-Owners, University Pickers and Redbird Boutique & Gifts, Booth Biz Founders

Trish Gleason & Cindi Pope
At University Pickers we are family! The owners are sisters, the “Picker Sisters”!

It all started with a tiny booth and a love for all things old and beautiful. University Pickers came next, and now they recently opened Redbird Boutique & Gifts.  Throw in some incredible, creative vendors, a vision for bigger and better, and baby, we’re in business!

Cindi Pope and Trish Gleason grew up in middle TN with a mom that has a flair for decorating and a dad that knows his business. Mom taught us early how to shop for a bargain and make simple things beautiful. Dad taught us hard work and how to laugh at ourselves. Growing up in the Nashville area, we both learned to embrace country chic!

Retail Awards include Madison County 2017 Retailer of the Year, Best of Huntsville 2020, runner-up for Best of Huntsville 2021 in 3 categories and  Best in Bama Antique Mall 2020.   As little girls with opposite personalities, they clashed in a tiny, shared bedroom, once even drawing a dividing line down the center and threatening bodily harm to any that crossed. Thankfully, they grew up, found Jesus, and learned how to share. Now best friends and business partners, they work together using each other’s strengths to build up other small businesses in the booth industry. The store comes first, but they are also involved in local charitable events, hosting creative retreats and classes, coaching & hosting a yearly conference for small business owners in this industry.

Cindi & Trish love what they do. Faith & family are central to who they are. They love to help other small businesses grow and thrive, and they strive to provide customers what they can’t find in big box stores: local, handmade and unique items.

The Junk Parlor

Brooke Johnson

I’m Brooke Johnson, mother of 4, one a little angel. I’m married to my best friend, Matt. I started out in education, my mom taught, mother-in-law taught, husband taught, and I taught. But, I knew that wasn’t my calling. I have always loved rearranging things and styling vignettes. I can remember growing up rearranging my room, over and over again. I’m grateful my mom let me! And that love for design led me to starting The Junk Parlor. Want to know how I got that name?  CLICK HERE.

With little knowledge of running a business, but a big desire for change and minimal debt. Did I mention I’m a penny pincher? I started off slowly, continuing to teach while I had booths, shop space, barn sales and set-up at shows. I read as much as a could about running a creative business. Ultimately my goal was to quit teaching and open a brick and mortar. It took A LOT of convincing my husband, but in February of 2016 I opened the doors to my occasional shop.
